Gibbon Fairfax Winthrop High School is accepting applications for a 1.0 FTE physical education, health and DAPE teacher starting in the 2018-2019 school year. GFW ISD 2365: Literacy Coaches, K-5, 6-8, 1.0 FTE

GFW Schools is accepting applications for the 2018-2019 school year for two 1.0 Striving Readers Comprehensive Literacy Coaches (SRCL) for K-5th grade, one 1.0 coach for 6th-8th grade, and one 1.0 coach for 9th-12th grade. Applicants need a current Minnesota classroom teaching licensure.  Completion of a reading licensure program is preferred but not required.  These positions are funded for two years by the striving reader's grant.

 

Striving Reader Comprehensive Literacy coaching role: 

  • Know the foundations of reading processes and instruction
  • Can use a wide range of literacy evidence-based practices, approaches, methods, and curriculum materials to support literacy instruction
  • Can use a variety of assessment tools and practices to plan and evaluate effective literacy instruction
  • Know how to create a literate environment that fosters independent reading and writing:
  • View professional development as an essential effort to increasing capacity and meeting the needs of learners
  • Can apply knowledge and experience in working with adult learners
  • Has a track record of working with classroom and content area teachers in core instruction
  • Demonstrate an understanding of Minnesota’s K-12 Academic Standards in English Language Arts.
  • Proven practices of modeling and assisting teachers with evidence-based literacy practices and aligning curriculum to academic standards
  • Can analyze student literacy data to identify student needs and system causes to design appropriate staff development

GFW ISD 2365: Assistant Football Coach
GFW is currently looking for an Assistant Football Coach for the 2018 season.  We are looking for someone who will work closely with the Head Coach and the Athletic Director to promote our football program.

Duties Include:
•Planning and running practices
•Overseeing the functions of game days
•Keeping athletes and parents of athletes informed of practice and game schedules
•Maintaining a positive attitude that promotes the program
•Advancing the vision of the Head Coach
•Being knowledgeable of MSHSL rules
•Keeping inventory and maintaining equipment and uniforms
•Assist in collecting MSHSL forms and participation fees
•Upholding the rules and expectations of GFW and the GFW community
