During August, we receive frequent updates to our transportation routes. As a result, the information included in this packet may change before the school year begins. Families will be notified of any updates to their bus routes prior to the first day of school.
Beginning this year, there will be some changes to student transportation.
In the mornings, all students will stay on the bus they were picked up on until they arrive at the new GFW PreK-12 building.
GFW PreK–5th grade students will remain at the new building.
PLS Elementary students will transfer to Bus 24 to go to Gibbon.
PLS Middle School students will transfer to Bus 21 to go to Fairfax.
GFW Gibbon and Fairfax Middle/High School students will transfer to Bus 15, 17, or 18/25 to ride to the MS/HS.
GFW Winthrop MS/HS students will get off at the MS/HS before the buses continue on to the PreK-12 site in Gibbon.
For Families Living in Rural Areas:
If you did not receive a rural route sheet, your student is not currently scheduled for bus transportation. If transportation is needed, please contact the transportation department via email.
If you did receive a rural route sheet, your student is currently scheduled for bus transportation. If you do not plan to use the school bus, please notify the transportation department so your student can be removed from the route.
If you received a rural route sheet but the information is incorrect, please email the transportation department with the updated details at transportation@gfwschools.org
Town Stops (times are approximate)
The GFW Schools in Gibbon, Fairfax and Winthrop will not be used as bus stops. Even though we will be dropping students off at the GFW MS/HS for the first part of the year, we will not be picking students up at the school. Students need to utilize the added town stops that have been added to each town.
