Superintendent’s Report
Superintendent Berg shared about spring concerts and art shows with student talents on full display across all grade levels. Elementary students were also able to attend the Junior Coaches seminar with other schools from across the state. End of the year events are happening and there is a lot of excitement about ECFE and community education events coming up for the summer.
At the legislature, funding remained very flat for school districts with small investments being made. Because it was anticipated that the state would not meet funding needs in compensatory funding, the district has already made budget adjustments for the coming fiscal year. There has not been strong communication from the state level on plans for special education funding with work still being done. Berg shared that it is hard to adjust budgets based on current lack of clarity but will be freezing external hiring and using current FTE employees to to serve students.
The joys of having all of the students in the same building have been evident with lots of smiles and high fives shared between grade levels.
Principal Reports
Principal Jacobson shared that seniors were very grateful to get to enjoy the end of the year in the new building as they look ahead to graduation. Schools are busy with end of year activities and looking ahead to what comes next for the graduation class of 2026. There will be lots of service opportunities including getting to participate in end of the year events with elementary students as well as the NHS induction and Evening of Excellence.
The Variety show was a huge success this year with around 200 people attending on Friday and a little less on Saturday.
