Superintendent’s Report
Superintendent Berg shared updates about the new strategic plan that will officially take effect on July 1. Work has been taking place to prepare for the goals and objectives with meetings already taking place. The 2025-26 school year wrapped up well with great opportunities with all of the students in one building for part of the year. End of year events were highly successful with evening of excellence, graduation, preschool graduation, and other ways to celebrate students in all grade levels.
The In Flight has been sent out with great opportunities for the summer. Berg also shared updates about the review and comment process taking place to prepare for upcoming November 2026 elections and thanked the staff for a great first year in the district.
Principal Reports
Principal Thompson shared updates from the elementary school where teachers met their goals and are looking ahead to next year to pull together initiatives and tools to best serve students. The track and field events held at the end of the school year were a lot of fun even with some challenges and changes with weather. Summer school will take place with free meals also being provided to school age children. The local literacy plan has been posted to the district website with additional Read Act training taking place soon. Staff will also be doing training activities around new math standards that are coming out from the state.
The Summer Arts Camp came to an end with a great performance of Elephant and Piggie We’re in a Play. This was free to students thanks to a partnership between TCA, GFW Community Ed and funded by grants. TCA is also preparing for their upcoming performances of Frozen from July 30-August 2.
Principal Jacobson shared about the end of the school year which was fast and furious and filled with celebrations of student accomplishments. The variety show, evening of excellence, NHS induction, letterman’s banquet, and graduation were all well attended and full of community support and encouragement for staff and students. The annual kickball tournament was also a wonderful day of connection and friendly competition. Every teacher met their goals and there have been many wonderful stories of systems of support and PBIS working well in the building.
