Do you sometimes feel as if emotions are taking over your home and relationship with your child? Come explore this topic to learn more about what can fuel the big feelings and hope to help your child cope and regulate. We will also look at how emotions connect to behavior challenges. Additionally, you get to make and take home a sensory bottle and other tools to use at home to promote calming and coping.

Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) is a program unique to Minnesota and it is celebrating a big anniversary this year! Check out the story in the local papers about some of the programs being offered and other updates from Director of Student and Community Programs Tonia Schiro.

A Dad and Me class for children ages 2-5 years and their Dads (or special friend or grandpa) will be offered Thursday, January 18 at 6 p.m. This class is geared especially for dads or that someone special to come and enjoy an evening of fun filled activities with their child(ren). Dad's discussion group follows the children’s activities. Dad’s will then take home a take and make a project to do at home with their child/children!
Cost is $20 per child. Discounts available for additional children in the family.
Please prepay this fee to confirm your class registration.
Each child will also take home a free book the night of class.

Classroom technology is so important for future-focused learning! Students at GFW High School have access to a variety of different technology devices to take their learning to the next level.

It's great to have our students back and kicking off 2024 with some great learning and hard work!

GFW Community, we got excited and looked at wrong calendar when sending the latest district e-newsletter! To clear up the confusion, December 20 and 21 are staff development days with no student attendance. Winter break is December 22 through January 1 and students will return on Tuesday, January 2.
This year's snow person building contest has been delayed due to weather.

Things were looking cozy at GFW Middle School and High School today during pajama day. Students and staff are ready for winter break!

Students at GFW Middle School and High School will be celebrating in style next week with dress up days on December 18 and 19!
Monday Dec. 18 - Wear your ugliest Christmas sweater! There will be an ugly sweater contest that you can join during your lunch hour.
Tuesday Dec. 19 - Wear your comfiest clothes, pajamas encouraged!

Students in third grade earned a free choice day in STEAM class this week and got to choose different activities. It was a great chance to experiment with new options or revisit some of their favorites!

What a great time at Holiday Baking Night with Grandparents lat week! Everyone had so much fun and the cookies were delicious!











Students in ninth grade at GFW High School were able to get up and move around the room today while working on math stations in Geometry Class!





Fourth grade students learned about electricity this week and created a model of a flashlight using button batteries, and LED lights.




Students in second grade were learning how scientists classify animals using different traits. Then they were able apply what they learned and practice sorting different animals into four groups based on their traits.
