Some GFW football players volunteered to help with different things including serving meals, escorting guests in to the dance, and cleaning up. Community Ed Class Alert: Babysitter Training - Monday, Oct. 14 from 3:30-5:30 p.m.
We will cover appropriate games and activities, telephone common sense, basic first aid, good decision making skills and much more. Participants must be 10 years old by the start of class. Children will receive printed materials, several items to add to their babysitter kits and a certificate upon class completion. Please bring a doll and snack to class. $45 per student, register by October 7.

The second graders have been having fun with hands-on learning! We engaged in a Paul Bunyan craft and enjoyed 'flapjacks' at the end of the Fairy and Tall Tale unit. We practiced spelling tricky/heart words with magnetic tiles and built numbers with base ten blocks.
Parent Talk! - Internet Safety and Social Media Use - Thursday, Oct. 10 from 6-7:30 p.m. at GFW Elementary.
Come join us as we discuss how to set limits and teach our children about being safe on the internet as well as what steps we can take as parents to safeguard our kids. We will also examine the impact of social media and discuss how to educate our children about the positive and negative aspects of being on social media. Registration is free and should be completed by Oct. 3. Childcare will be provided for $5.

Students at GFW Elementary celebrated Wacky Wednesday during homecoming week. They answered wacky writing prompts such as “What would you do if cookies turned you into minions?” and used wacky utensils to paint like plastic forks!
Students at GFW Elementary celebrated International Dot Day by living the message of the book The Dot of "just make a mark and see where it takes you!"
There was a whole lot of school spirit going on at the Elementary Pep Fest this week!

The beginning of the school year in Mrs. Hartmann's class has been a fun and exciting adventure. From the very first day, our classroom has been filled with laughter, creativity, and the sounds of discovery. Students at GFW Elementary participated in bus safety training today. They did a great job!
Friday, Sept. 27 is an early release day for all students! GFW Elementary School will release at 12:15 p.m. and GFW Middle School and High School will release at 12:30 p.m. There will be no PM PreK.

Last night was meet the candidates night for Homecoming Week. Juniors on student council ran the event with fun activities including thas the frozen t-shirt and guess the phrase. Happy Homecoming!

Community Ed Trip: Stillwater Fall Colors Boat Cruise on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
