Students in Mr. Dela Cruz's math class started the year with some great ways to get know one another! They made a Tessellation of Honeycombs to complete the "A Class That Fits Together" Wall. Each honeycomb set represents a student and they all come together to form something awesome.





📅 Our youngest Firebirds start school on Tuesday, Sept. 8! We can’t wait to welcome pre-K students to start their academic journeys.

Give a big GFW welcome to our new choir director Mr. Olson! He was working with middle school students to get ready to make beautiful music together.

Students at GFW Elementary School kicked off the school year with an assembly in the brand new auditorium to learn about the theme for the year, "Building Our Future" where they enjoyed LEGO visuals that go along with the theme.

Try something new this fall! Beginning Sept. 10 and through the school year, Yoga sessions will be hosted by Community Education. Join each Thursday for a gentle, accessible, all level yoga class focused on breath work, strength and balance.
Classes will take place on Thursday evenings from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the GFW PreK-12 School, Gibbon in the Business Center. Extra yoga mats will be available. The cost is $70 if you sign up for all six sessions, or drop in for $15 each week.

Superintendent Berg kicked off the first day of school for all K-12 students by hopping on one of GFW's new buses in Fairfax and joining students for the ride to school. Have a great first day!

The Cafeteria Crew is ready for the big kids, today and started the day with delicious donuts for breakfast!

Some of the GFW Class of 2027 kicked off the 2026-27 school year with a little food, fun, and friendship!
GFW Public Schools is moving to a digital and cashless ticketing app for events! Everyone who enters the event will need a ticket. Our students can still attend the games free of charge, but will need a student pass.

Calling all 9-14-year-old students: You’re invited to take part in the GFW First Lego League team. Students will design and program a Spike Prime robot to do a variety of tasks on a 4x8 foot field. This year’s theme is Bioglow and is about the vibrancy of the world's ecosystems.
Students will meet every Monday night from 6-7:30 p.m. at the GFW PreK-12 in Gibbon, robotics room starting Sept. 14. The class fee is $20/student.
