GFW Band students have been working hard and sounding great this school year!





Last week at the annual Evening of Excellence event, 118 scholarships were awarded to 33 GFW seniors and 8 alumni. A total of $431,050 was awarded from scholarships across the nation, with $166,050 coming from GFW’s generous communities. Thank you to everyone who supported this event and congratulations to our seniors!

We loved seeing our graduating seniors and our kindergarteners getting to spend some time together in the different parts of their academic journeys!

We are excited to celebrate the class of 2026 at graduation on Saturday, May 30 at 6 p.m.

GFW's new facility was designed with small group work in mind. Students are able to use different spaces with staff to grow in their learning!


We were excited to be able to celebrate all of the work and dedication that outgoing members of the GFW NHS Chapter have done as we welcomed our newest members. Thank you for all that you have done!



A huge congratulations to all of the new GFW NHS inductees who were part of last week's induction ceremony and to our incoming officers President Jennifer Guzman, Vice President Matthew Lee, Secretary Addison Henningson, Treasurer Skylar Lyimo, and Historian Haley Strain!


Having all of our students in our new building has created so many new opportunities. We're already excited for next school year!



Wednesday, May 27 is the last day of school for all students. It's been a great school year!

The new GFW facility has had a fantastic first year and we can't wait to continue to use these spaces to grow future world class leaders for years to come!

Attention 4th graders and older! Our Community Education Home Alone class is coming up on Monday, June 1!
Kirsten Dean will cover the basics of staying home alone and coming/going from home safely. Topics such as appliance safety, responsibilities, first aid and more. Students will feel confident and educated to stay home after attending this class.

Let's celebrate another moment in GFW Athletics History!
Senior Owen Swenson has tied the GFW High School Baseball record for career hits. His 80 career hit share the record set by Chris Palmer in 1992. Owen is also second in school history for career Doubles with 19 and he ranks third in school history for Stolen Bases with 36.
Way to go Owen!

There is no school and district offices will be closed on Monday, May 25 in recognition of Memorial Day.

Do you need an updated First Aid certification? Our Community Education program is hosting their next training on Wednesday, June 2!
Jeffery T. Allerson will lead the Heartsaver CPR/AED First Aid Certification Course from 1-4 p.m. in the GFW PreK-12 School Building.
Participants will learn duties and responsibilities of first aid rescuers; first aid actions for medical emergencies, including severe choking, heart attack, and stroke; and skills for handling injury and environmental emergencies, including external bleeding, broken bones and sprains, and bites and stings. Following the course, participants will receive a course completion card that is valid for two years.
The registration fee is $60 per person, and the deadline to register is by Tuesday, May 26!
