Future Kindergartener parents and students: Join us tomorrow night, Tuesday, April 7 for our Kindergarten Kick Off event!

Beginning at 6:30 p.m., you’ll have a chance to learn more about our kindergarten program and meet our kindergarten teachers.

Did you know that kindergarteners at GFW have a chance to be dual language learners? Our Dual Language Immersion program includes half the day taught in English and half the day taught in Spanish. This program is great for both English and Spanish speakers and is the only program of this kind in our area.

We can’t wait to meet the future class of 2039!

GFW Students in 8th grade participate in the College and Career Readiness class where they get to learn all about options that await them after high school. They are learning about options to pay for college and are learning how to fill out applications for scholarships. They even got to make their very own college pennants with some pretty great looking schools!

As part of the math-based fun earlier this month, students were able to play Pi Day Bingo that featured different math symbols instead of numbers called. This activity aimed to increase mathematical awareness of students, and to provide refresher of math symbols and problems in preparation of the upcoming MCA. The winners of course got pie!

Trig Star Competition 2026 is a competition sponsored by National Society of Professional Surveyors that took place on March 13 at SCC Mankato. It aimed to provide opportunities to high school students to showcase their talents in trigonometry, and to expose them to the practical applications of trigonometry. The GFW Trig Star team was composed of 17 students with four math teachers that helped with the preparation. The team earned 3rd Highest Top 10 Cumulative Score with a few other achievements:

-Keyden Buboltz was recognized for earning the highest score among GFW participants.
-Kjerssa Jansinski, Matthew Lee, and Mr. Thompson won 1st place in the individual measuring contest.
