Over the weekend, GFW Student Council hosted a pickleball tournament for high school students. There was some fierce competition and impressive moves throughout the day, but ultimately Luke and Carson took home the title of pickleball champs!

Last week, GFW juniors in seniors in Mr. Langemo's government classes got to attend Sibley County Government Day! Students worked with sibley county officials to mentor them in government careers opportunities and got to tour the courthouse, sheriff's vehicles, jail, and public works vehicles.
They also got to participate in a mock trial and mock commissioner's meeting led by the commissioners and county administrator.
Thank you to all the Sibley County Employees and officials who made this experience possible for our students!

As part of Spring Fling Week, students played a guessing game during lunch with Starbursts in a jar. The closest guesses won the entire jar.
For middle school, Riley guessed 136 with 141 starbursts in the jar and for high school, Noah guessed 151 with 153 starbursts in the jar.
Way to go guys!

GFW students are ready to stride into summer safely!
A big thank you to Sleepy Eye Medical Center for visiting with our K–2 students to share the importance of bike safety and proper helmet use. Their demonstration helped our youngest learners understand how to stay safe while having fun outdoors—and they even got to see and touch a fake brain!
We’re especially grateful that each of our 1st grade students received a brand-new bike helmet to take home—what a meaningful way to support safe summer adventures!

Cole plans to attend Northwestern College in Orange City Iowa. He will be a member of the Northwestern College Red Raiders basketball team and is planning on majoring in Business and Finance.

The MSHSL Visual Arts Competition took place recently and GFW had eight artworks from seven students go to the festival on Wednesday April 8. All students earned awards of Excellent or Superior ranking from the judges. On top of that, 11th grader Jon Ramirez was awarded one of the twelve Spotlight Awards for his computer based artwork that was chosen from over 100 artworks. Great work GFW artists!
