2024 graduate Nicole Sievert has been busy and has some awards from the Sibley County Fair 4-H Sheep Show to show for her hard work including Champion senior interview, Champion senior lamb lead. Champion market trio, Champion white face market lamb, Champion fleece, and Reserve champion market lamb rate of gain. Way to go Nicole (and to the sheep too we suppose)!

Dr. Smith is no stranger to our community as he began his education career as a 7-12 math teacher and coach at Winthrop High School and served in different capacities when the GFW district was formed. Community Education: Cards Class for Kids
Kids ages five years and older will be using a variety of stamps, stickers, pencils, ink pads, paper and so much more to make their own greeting cards. Every child will be making 4-6 cards to take home. All supplies covered in the class fee.
Wednesday, August 7 form 10-11:30 a.m. $22 per student at GFW Elementary School. Register by July 31
GFW Public Schools is hosting an Athletic/Activity Meeting on Wednesday, July 31 in the High School Gym beginning at 7 p.m. The purpose of this meeting is to familiarize students and parents with schedules, transportation, communication process and procedures, activity handbook, Allina Athletic Training Services, and more!

Community Ed Trip: Take Me Home: The Music of John Denver
We’ll begin with an included buffet lunch at the Coyote Moon Grille and then head for the St. Cloud Paramount Theatre for Take Me Home: The Music of John Denver! Jim Curry has created the ultimate tribute experience, emerging as the top performer of John Denver’s music today. This tribute is the only full-length John Denver tribute to headline in Las Vegas and has been celebrated nationally and internationally. Community Education: Little Scientist for ages five years and older on Wednesday, July 10 from 10-11:30 am. - $18 per student at GFW Elementary. Please register by July 2.
Kids will be doing several hands-on experiments using household items to create a volcano and more! Come join in the fun and excitement of science! Dress for a mess! All supplies are covered in the class fee. Kids will be bringing their projects home after class.
GFW Community, Principal Thompson needs your help! We are looking for two host families for our Amity interns who are coming to GFW for the next school year and helping out at the elementary school. The interns are from Spain (Manuel) and El Salvador (Susana). This is a great opportunity to host a college age student in your home who is bilingual. They will arrive a few days before school starts and leave the week of June 2nd. Our intern from Spain would need to be in a cat free home.
