
GFW Middle School and High School students, tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept. 10) is picture day! MS students will get their pictures taken in specified periods. High school students can get their picture taken from 7:30-9 a.m., during their lunch time, and from 1:30-3 p.m. (as long as they have study hall during that time). All seniors must get their photo taken and PSEO students need to come as well!

Another good thing for our High School students and families to know, tomorrow (Tuesday, Sept. 10) is the last day for schedule changes. Students can make changes with Mr. Wasmund or Ms. Wood. Students who are in Spanish class have until Friday, Sept. 13 to make changes


Join our Early Childhood Family Education (ECFE) team for Toddler classes on Tuesdays this fall! Children ages 1-2 are filled with a driven sense of wonder and discovery. Come share with other parents ways to help your mover and shaker deal with frustrations, learn to share, and build self esteem. This class runs for 6 weeks starting Tuesday, Sept. 24. The 2024-25 school year is off to a great start! We will be welcoming our preschool students on Monday, Sept. 9 for their first day of school.

The Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser is Thursday, Sept. 12 at the GFW High School Cafeteria. Tickets are $10 per meal and you'll be served by the Thunderbirds!


It's almost time for Dollars for Scholars! Students in grades 10-12 can sign up to work the phones on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sign-ups are available in the office.


Community Ed Class Alert: Canvas Painting Class on Thursday, Sept. 19 at 6:30 p.m.
Nancy Guggisberg, a local artist, will come with the needed supplies for participants to paint their own Fall gnome with step by step instructions on how to do so. Cost is $30, please register by September 10!

Students and staff at GFW Middle School and High School kicked off the day yesterday with a morning assembly to welcome students back, introduce staff, and get excited for the 2024=25 school year!





September is Minnesota School Board Recognition Month! GFW students benefit every day from the leadership and vision of our school board members. Please take time to thank these dedicated school leaders for all of their hard work and time that they dedicate our schools and students!

We are so excited to kick off the 2024-25 school year! The first day of school for students in grades 6-12 is Tuesday, Sept. 3.


GFW staff heard from Todd and Shaun from Youth Frontiers during a retreat on "remembering your purpose" during the first day of staff development. They had a great message about the importance of listening to "your music" instead of "the static" as educators!



GFW Public Schools is excited to welcome some new teachers to GFW Middle School and High School. New and non-tenured staff learned how to manage schoology and set up their grade books before all staff came back this week.
