
Paisley Rettmann stepped in to serve as Principal for the Day at GFW Elementary today. As part of her principal duties, she met with Dr. Horton, did a safety walk in the building, checked on students in their classrooms, and supervised recess. Way to go Paisley!



During last week's student of the month celebration, we had some students share poetry and writing that they did in Mrs. Busse's 8th grade ELA class!


Today we pause to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

GFW Public Schools is proud to provide a Summer Food Program again this year!
The Summer Food Program will run from Monday, June 10 to Friday , August 9, Monday through Friday. Free meals will be served for those 18 and younger at GFW Elementary School in Gibbon.
Breakfast will be served from 8-9 a.m.
Lunch will be served from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Meals will have to be eaten in the school cafeteria.
No meals will be served the week of July 1-5.

Students at GFW Elementary did an amazing job at their spring concert last week which featured a variety of songs related to the beach, ocean, and being on the water!

There was a ton of fun for all at GFW Middle School and High School last week as fourth graders visited for Ag Experience Day!









Last week, Richard Ross, who is the grandfather of students Ellie and Odin and father of Paraprofessional Amy Albrecht brought this fossil to school and shared it with students during STEAM. It was found by a gravel company out of Currie, MN on May 7, 2024 and is around 3 feet long and weighs 30 pounds. It's was a solid Ivory tusk possibly from a Mastodon from 14,000 years ago. Thank you for sharing this cool experience with our students!

Let's hear it for the GFW Softball Team Seniors! They were celebrated at Senior Night with some awesome field decorations.










The JH Boys Baseball Team wrapped up their season with a win on Monday night! Way to go guys!

The GFW Pioneer Express FFA celebrated the class of 2024 and installed new officers!
The new officers are: President- Eden Messerli, Vice President - Abby Willegal, Secretary- William Bastian, Treasurer-Carson Lee, Reporter - Luke Bastian, Sentinel - Brad Wersel Historian- Matthew Burns, Student Advisor- Mitchell Olson



Fifth graders had a fantastic field trip to Renville County Outdoor Parks Outdoor Education Day where they learned about wildlife and more!
